The Sava Lake, commonly known as Ada Ciganlija, is a transformed sleeve of the Sava River, originally an elongated island. The lake’s creation began in 1957 and was completed in 1967 with the goal of providing a natural center for recreation and sports activities. Its final form was achieved in 1978, and it has been continually improved and developed since then.
