The first Guitar Art Festival was in 2000. Many changed since then. Today it is an international and professional event that gathers many musicians. Nowadays it is one of the biggest and most outstanding international festivals of classic guitar play in the world. The main stars are guitarists from all over the world. The Festival has a contest in various categories, workshops, seminars, and concerts. After 20 years of successful presentation of the most famous names of the guitar world, the tradition goes on.
Guitar Art Festival and Belgrade Youth Center present the 22nd edition of the International Guitar Festival. It will be held from June 1 to 5, 2021, under the slogan Digital Revolution. Belgrade will celebrate the guitar through 8 concerts of classical, pop, and rock music. There is also another accompanying program of the festival.
The long-awaited concert of the popular guitar supergroup 40 Fingers opens the Guitar Art Festival on June 1 in Kombank Hall. The musicians are looking forward to performing in front of the Belgrade audience. It has been postponed three times so far. The new music and stage spectacle of the Italian guitar quartet Guitar Rhapsody will present famous film music. On their list are original songs with an energetic part with cult melodies and popular arrangements of pop and rock hits.
Vlatko Stefanovski will perform on June 3
The celebrated guitarist Vlatko Stefanovski is a regular guest and part of the Guitar Art Festival. This time, at the concert on June 3 in the big hall of the Belgrade Youth Center, he will be joined by a special guest. Vukasin Markovic, a singer, and trombonist will perform popular guitar songs in special arrangements. Together they will make a great team.
The festival wants to support and promote guitar virtuosos. That is why the greatest talents of Serbia occupy a special place in the program scheme of the festival this year. It will also introduce them to the world and help them start successful international careers. The concerts will be held by young guitarist Vuk Vukajlovic, winner of the Virtuoso V4 + competition in Hungary. Virtuoso V4 + promotes young talents of classical music. Nikola Jelacic, virtuoso of the Belgrade Faculty of Music, will join him. Amalija Miller, princess of the six-stringed instrument, with the string orchestra Macris is another artist who will perform.
Ruben Bettenkurt from Portugal, Tal Hurwitz from Israel, and Julia Trinshock from Germany, and other top guitarists will perform as a part of Classical music concerts at the Guitar Art Festival.
The closing ceremony of the festival is on June 5 on the big stage of Kolarac Endowment. It will also be the world premiere of the concert Recuerdos de Belgrado by German composer Joaquin Klerch. He dedicated the concert for the guitar and symphony orchestra to the Belgrade Guitar Art Festival. On the other hand, the RTS Symphony Orchestra will perform under the baton of conductor Bojan Sudjic. The soloists of the concert are Marko Tamajo from Austria, David Martinez, and Rafael Aguirre from Spain.
Tickets for Guitar Art Festival 2021
For the concert of 40 Fingers, you can exchange last year’s tickets with the price and date of March 12, 2020. Exchange for new tickets will be possible from Monday, May 17 in the hall of Kombank Hall. It will last until May 26. Additionally, after the specified date, the replacement will not be possible. However, there will be an eventual purchase of new tickets, if there are conditions for that in accordance with the measures.
The sale of new tickets at the price of 1200 dinars, as well as the replacement of the old ones with the price and date of March 14, 2020, for the concert Recuerdos de Belgrado, will be possible from Monday, May 17, at the treasury of the Kolarac Endowment.
Tickets for Vlatko Stefanovski’s concert will be on sale from Monday, May 17. You can also get them at the box office of the Belgrade Youth Center and through the tickets.rs sales network at a price of 2,000 dinars.
Additionally, tickets for the Guitar Art Classic concerts on June 2 and 4 in the big hall of the Belgrade Youth Center will cost 1,000 dinars. All information can be obtained by email at office@gaf.rs.
