Watching movies
If you would like to enjoy the film without spending a lot of money, visit the National Film Archive of the Republic of Serbia, known as the Yugoslav Cinema. This cult institution was founded in 1949 and has more than 100,000 film copies from around the world and therefore belongs to one of the most important and most complete cinemas in the world. In addition to showing films, the movie theater also has a museum dedicated to the prehistory and history of the movie that you can visit. The ticket price for the film does not exceed 200 dinars (about 1.5 euros).
Given that this is a kind of institution of culture in the cinema, no snacks are practiced like in big cinemas. Each month, a detailed film program is published, which mainly deals with a certain topic. For the repertoire and additional information, visit their site by clicking here. Keep in mind that the cinema has two objects (old and new), so if you are studying the repertoire, pay attention to the location on which the movie is shown. The good thing is that both are located in the city center and the distance between them is about 10 minutes walk.
Alternative: Other places where films are shown – Boho bar at the Kalemegdan Fortress while enjoying the drink, then Novi Bioskop Zvezda, Dom Omladine Beograda, Cultural Center Belgrade as well as Filmstreet organization that organizes watching open-air cult films at different city locations during the summer period..
