Watch out for IndieBelgrade Festival!

In the framework of the Fourth Festival of Independent American Film, which will be held in the Belgrade Youth Center from 13 to 16 September, the film “The Poor Education of Cameron Post” (2018, 91) will be premiered in front of the Serbian audience. This teenage drama, directed by Desiree Akhavan, who signed and script with Cecilia Frugiuele, won the film of this year’s Sandens Festival and won the Grand Prix of the Jury.

The title role is interpreted by the young star Chloë Grace Moretz (“Let me in”, “Kick-Ass”), which on the big screen has added another role for memory. This time, she plays a sexually ambivalent teenager caught in her arms with her companion, which is why she is sent to a church camp for young people who need “a therapy for changing sexual orientation”.

In addition to the Sandens Festival, on which she was named the best, this year she is also shown at other festivals: Tribeca, Carlsbad, Seattle, San Francisco, Molodist.

This year’s edition of the IndieBelgrade Festival, under the slogan “From Independent Film to the Oscar”, will feature six premier films of the most recent production of the American independent film, which will compete for the Grand Prix. , and so far have already been shown at prestigious world festivals.

Special guest festival will be an icon of independent film, double Oscar winner Alexander Payne. The author of “Stranputica”, “Nebraska”, “Potomaka” and “Sve o Šmitu” will receive the “Indie Icon Award” for a lifetime and talk with the curious Belgrade audience about their journey from an independent film to the Oscar on Saturday, September 15th which will be followed by a special projection of one of his films.

Indie Belgrade is organized by the Dom omladine Beograda & Super Films Int. with the support of the City of Belgrade, the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia and the US Embassy in Belgrade.
