If you weren’t able to decide where to celebrate New Year Eve, there was traditional party on Republic Square in Belgrade. The City Parliament of Belgrade, as in previous years, has organized a celebration on the streets of Belgrade. The glittering streets, decorated shop windows and countless bars bring forward the holiday spirit. Foreign languages can be heard at every step.
The biggest New Year’s Eve party in Belgrade stretched over the course of three days – from December 30th till January 2nd. On December 30th crowd was entertained and warmed by the beat of MC Stojan, Senidah, Angelina, Mili i Gazda Paja.
The peak of party and already heated atmosphere was on December 31st when singers Maja Berovic and legendary Lepa Brena and rock group Piloti were in charge of music. What to say about their performance? Maja Berovic was perfect for lifting the party spirit, and as an opening act for Lepa Brena. Lepa Brena is a folk singer that dominated for last 40 years the music scene in Balkans. Her performance this New Years Eve was everything that we expected and then some.
At midnight over the city skyline was colored in numerous colors with now already a traditional firework. Half an hour as we were cheering and toasting for New Year 2020 began performance of rock group Piloti.
On January 1st if you had any strength left was the time to visit The ice rink near Knez Mihailo monument on will be transformed into the Ice Park that will span 1,200 square meters. There will be slides for the youngest visitors, a gaming zone, and many other interesting activities that are taking place under the auspices of the Belgrade Winter event.
