The Belgrade Zoo is richer for another member these days, because the world has come to the world of the Patagonian marae, members of the endangered species.

Mare, or as they are otherwise called patagonian mares, are large rodents from the family of sea pigs, which resembles a kangaroo. They are settled by the South American continent, most notably the forests of Argentina, and over the last few years they have become an extremely endangered species.

They have long legs and striking ears, and they feed on leaves and fruits.
